We work with the “Big 6” hearing aid manufacturers – Oticon, Phonak, Signia, Widex, ReSound, and Starkey. Each manufacturer produces a range of products which will fit every lifestyle and budget. The decision as to what will be best for you is between you and your audiologist, depending on your hearing loss, your lifestyle, your communication difficulties, and the cost of the aids.
The Brattleboro Hearing Center CarePlan
All of our hearing aids come with a three year manufacturer’s warranty that covers repair to the devices, and a one-time loss and damage policy. We also include three years of service, support, and supplies (including batteries) with every hearing aid. Our CarePlan gives you the peace of mind that whatever you need to keep your hearing aids working optimally will be achieved at no additional cost to you.
Hearing Aid Fitting
Sometimes people come to us with hearing aids that they have purchased elsewhere, or that have been gifted from a friend or relative. We would be happy to fit them for you. Our fitting process includes an electroacoustic analysis of the devices to ensure proper function, programming of the devices for your hearing loss, Real Ear measurement to ensure proper amplification for your hearing loss, an orientation to the care and use of the devices, a starter pack of supplies, and a year of follow-up care.
Hearing Aid Adjustments
By the same token, we are more than happy to work with hearing aids that you have been using for a period of time but need to be tuned up. If you have purchased your hearing aids through a state program (i.e. through a Vocational Rehabilitation Program), at another office, or if your hearing aids are more than 5 years old, we will charge you for adjustments. If your hearing aids were purchased with our Brattleboro Hearing Center CarePlan, then – no worries! Your adjustment is at no charge!
Walk-In Service
We offer walk-in service from 9-noon and 1-4 Monday through Friday in both our Brattleboro and Swanzey offices. We also offer drop-off service in our Greenfield office. We are happy to troubleshoot your hearing aids, clean them, work with connectivity issues, or just answer your questions on a walk-in basis. This is likely to include a listening check of your aids, sanitizing them, replacing any pieces and parts in-house, drying them to protect against moisture damage, and generally assessing them to ensure they don’t need a manufacturer repair. What we can’t do on a walk-in basis is adjust your hearing aids. If you feel your hearing has changed or you are having situational difficulties that will require changing the way your hearing aids sound, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with your audiologist. Again, if you’ve purchased your hearing aids through a state program (i.e. through a Vocational Rehabilitation Program), at another office, or if your hearing aids are out of warranty, we will charge you for adjustments. If your hearing aids were purchased with our Brattleboro Hearing Center CarePlan, then – no worries! Your walk-in service is at no charge!
